Hope you enjoyed your week strutin' out to Rita Ora, but this week's strut song will keep you moving all week long. This week's Strut Song is "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj. A dangerously fierce trio of pure sass! Here's our favorite lyric:
"She got a body like an hourglass, but I can give it to you all the time
She got a booty like a Cadillac, but I can send you into overdrive"
This song just oozes confidence and we want you to scoop some up and slather it all over you while you rock out (That only sounds a little weird, right?). Check out the song below!

This week is all about one of fashion’s biggest trends—prints.
Prints are a fabulous way to add some personality and flavor to your outfit, but
learning how to wear them can be a daunting task. Don’t worry, we’ll break it
down for you. Let’s get started!
Here are some basic tips for wearing prints:
Keep in mind the scale of the print:
Smaller prints look better on more petite women whereas
larger prints can be overwhelming to their frame.
Prints that are slightly larger will better suit a fuller
figured woman.
Pair your prints with solid colors:
Pick one of the colors that are in the print you’re rockin’
and use that to pair with it.
If your print is in a neutral color you can pair it with any
color you wish.
Lastly, OWN IT!
Whatever print you try, just make sure you slip on that
confidence!

Today we'd like to discuss one of our favorite style icons and she's none other than our Strut Songstress herself, Rita Ora. She's not only a talented singer, but an accomplished model and today we're going to break down some of Rita Ora's killer outfits. Let's get started! The great thing about Rita Ora is that she is not only extremely versatile, but she's daring and we here at DeJa You can respect someone who pushes the boundaries of fashion! What we noticed about Rita's off-duty style is that she's not overly complicated. She knows how to put a couple pieces together to make an outfit that is uniquely Rita Ora. In each of the examples below, she has one very defined statement piece which she pairs with something more simple, and then dresses it up with accessories. Check out some of our Rita-inspired outfits below!

Hola Youvies! This week we're unveiling our first ever Trend Watch, which is a part of the show where we break down a current popular trend. We thought we'd kick off this segment with a bang and discuss a trend that...well, we'll let you decide what to think. It's overalls, baby! Let's get started! Here are some tips for styling your overalls:
Keep it simple: Opt for simpler tops and accessories to keep your look clean, particularly with full length overalls
Stay clear of rips, tears, and fading: Overalls are already extremely casual, adding these details to your overalls can create a messy, unkempt look...no one wants that.
Keep patterns small: The good thing about overalls is that you get to have a little fun with patterns and different materials. Opt for patterns that are smaller as to not become too overwhelming.
When wearing short overalls: Don't. We feel they don't flatter any body type and look too boxy.
Lastly, ROCK IT: Overalls are a bold, bold fashion choice so if you're going to rock 'em, own it! Like the great RuPaul would say, "You betta werk!"

Welcome to our second Ayudame! This week's question come from Dominique who wants to know how to style her wide leg trousers.
Well, Youvie, you've come to the right place! Let's get started!
Here are a couple basic tips for styling your wide legged trousers and harem pants:
Since wide leg trousers and harem pants are a statement piece, make sure the other pieces in your outfit are more plain as to not distract from or clash with the pant.
Opt for more fitted or structured pieces on your upper half like a blazer, crop top, or ribbed tank to counterbalance the volume of the pants.
Less is more! Don't get too crazy with accessories. Remember, the pants are the focal point.

This week we're going to discuss another
basic--jeans. It goes without mention that jeans are everyone’s go-to, but how
your favorite Levis fit on that fabulous butt you’ve been working on (mmhhmm we
see you) can easily turn your outfit from fashion killa to slumpy. Here are
some tips to make sure your next jean purchase will have you feeling just as
great as you look. Let's get started!
General
·
Opt for solid colors
o When shopping for jeans, opt for solid colors as opposed to jeans
with a lot of fading for example. This will ensure a clean look
that will be most flattering.
·
Be wary of jeans that
feature light washes
o The most common places for wash/fade in the
jeans happens to highlight a 'problem area' for many women....the thighs! So if
you're self-conscious about your thighs, use caution! These jeans will draw
eyes right to them.
·
Use
caution when it comes to 'visual distractions'
o such as tears, holes, embellishments
(rhinestones, stitched patterns, etc), unneeded zippers and pockets. These
can cause an optic-break for the eyes and can disrupt the flow from your
hips to your ankles, which you adversely make you appear shorter
Women
·
Opt for pockets that rest completely on your
cheeks!
o
Pockets that slide off
the booty and merge into the back-thigh area can trick the eye make your
derriere appear flat and perhaps even large (not in the flattering way!)
·
Bootcut is usually universally slimming,
For our curvy ladies
·Straight leg jeans
olook for straight leg
jeans that fall from the widest part of the hip. This will not only flatter
your frame, but will make those gorgeous gams look longer.
For the more petite
ladies
·Skinny jeans
oSkinny jeans are perhaps
most flattering for this type of lady because having too much pant on the
bottom half will be overwhelming for the frame.
For the fellas
· There are typically
three styles for men's jeans. They are: Boot Cut, Relaxed/Wide, Slim Fit and
Straight Cut
· Boot Cut styles are
typically slim throughout the thigh, narrows slightly at the knee then flares
slightly at the leg opening. This style, as with women, tends to be the most
flattering for most male body types.
· Straight leg fit jeans
will be slender and straight throughout the entire leg. This jean will narrow the
most. (of course, aside from 'skinny jeans', but that phrase tends not to truly
be used when discussing men's attire)
Relaxed Fit jeans will
be looser in both the thigh, knee and leg opening. This is typically the
loosest style of all men's jeans. With the right outfit, it can be flattering,
but it's possible that this style can make you appear 'bottom-heavy'.
When it comes to
'rise', men typically have three. Low, Mid and High-Rise.
· Mid-Rise is usually
the safest bet when it comes to rise. This sits generally right below the belly
button.
· Use caution when
wearing high-rise jeans as they can give you the oh-so-(un)-flattering 'mom
jeans' look (gasp!)
If you're not exactly
muscular or slender, the low-rise jean can be your enemy! Primarily becaue of
the 'muffin top' look it can create. Remember, it's not flattering for anyone
to appear they had to squeeze into their outfit. Never be ashamed of what size
you wear! It's all about how it flatters your look!
· For the men who are
seeking a 'modern classy' look, avoid frays, fringes, holes,
extra zippers, etc. etc.
Athletic and Slender
·
These body types look best in a boot or straight cut jean.
o
These draw more
attention to the right parts of your body and will leave you looking impeccable.
Tall and lean
These body types are lucky enough
to get away with nearly any type cut of jeans, however, a straight cut (aside from boot) is a very, very safe (and
tasteful) bet!
Heavy-set men
· Should avoid flare cut jeans.
o
These have the
potential to draw eyes horizontally, thus, expanding the appearance of your
frame. For a more flattering look, try on a wide-leg jean or a boot cut!
Well, now you've got some basic tips for fitting jeans. Here are some looks to get you started.
Remember that there is no failure in fashion! If something doesn't fit right, keep trying!

You love you family. You love your friends. You can your
pet. You can that new gift you’ve just rewarded yourself with. You can love
that tv show or musician….but why not yourself?
There seems to be some sort of stigma that you don’t deserve
to love yourself; or that, to love yourself, means that you are selfish. That’s
not the case.
Why shouldn’t you love yourself? It’s a divine thing as long
as you are careful you aren’t overstepping boundaries, here. We don’t want to
create a narcissistic army here, you feel?? What we’re trying to say is, out of
everyone in this world; out of SEVEN BILLION people, you are the one that
deserves your love the most. Why?
Bottom line: you’re stuck with yourself. You can make
changes yes. You can lose/gain weight, dye your hair, get surgery to alter your
appearance (we love you as you are!)bottom line, you cannot change your
foundation. You are you for the rest of your life so the biggest favor you can
do for yourself is to love yourself.
This is not selfishness
It’s a healthy kind of love. Of course you need not climb
the mountaintops and profess your love for yourself nor build yourself a shrine
or monument….that’s a bit much.
Wake up everyday and say, “It’s a great day, and so am I!”
Do not allow your worth to be validated by the love of
others (and for your sake, PLEASE don’t allow social media to validate your
existence! Remember Self Respect > Likes)
We understand it can be hard to love yourself. We’ve both
been there. Your pores are too big, your skin uneven, your chin too large and
your teeth are a bit crooked; your belly sticks out more than it should and you
don’t fit into a size zero; you don’t have washboard abs and there’s no gap
between your thighs. You stare at these imperfections in the mirror and dread
showing these off to the world outside.
Darlings! You’re looking for the pimple on the
prince/princess! The artist is the greatest critique of his masterpiece! You’re
a canvas and a work of art you are! You’re being much too harsh on yourself
and, in all honesty, that blemish/mole/scar/crooked nose or teeth/other concern
of yours isn’t even seen in the eyes of another! You think we’re blowing smoke?
Check out this very uplifting video made by the lovely folks of Dove:
Please, love yourself. That crooked smile you despise is
utterly charming in the eyes of another, believe us; because it makes you….you
Love yourself, Youvies!
A knight in shining armor is a knight who has never seen
battle! You are strong and courageous! Love the skin you’re in!

Today we'd like to discuss tops, more specifically, how they should fit. The fit of all the pieces you're rockin' is perhaps the most important part of your outfit. So before you go out and buy that paisley button up (don't do that), let's explore some basic tips for fitting a top.
1. Shoulders:The most fundamental part about fitting a top is making sure that the shoulder seam sits right at the corner of your shoulder.
H&M: $7.95
2. Length: Make sure that the length of your shirt (excluding dress shirts) covers at least half of your belt and doesn't drop any farther than halfway down the zipper.
H&M: $29.95
3. Short sleeves: When wearing short sleeves make sure that they length of the sleeve stops at about the midpoint of your upper arm. If you have smaller arms, the length can be brought up.
Forever 21: $9.80
4. Long sleeves: When wearing long sleeves, make sure that they cover all of your wrist and stop right at the base of the hand.
H&M: $39.95

We hope all is well for you! Today we will introduce a new
segment of our blog titled “¡AYUDAME!”. In this section, we will answer questions submitted by you, our readers! Whether it is a general fashion tip, a general
confidence tip or you’ve just impulsively bought an item and have NO idea how
to wear it (we’ve been there!) We’re here to help! This week, we will feature a
question submitted by an anonymous reader:
Q: How do I make my chest appear smaller?
A: As many of you know, a bigger chest isn’t exactly always
an ‘asset’. Sometimes, the gals have a way of making top-shopping difficult.
Luckily, there are several illusions you can utilize to make the girls a little
more ‘manageable’ ;)
*The Right Bra Size: The importance of wearing the correct
bra size cannot be stressed enough!
*V-Necks: V necks have a wonderful way of drawing the eyes
downward and opening up space that can actually minimize the size and
appearance of your boobies!
*Patterns: Patterns can be your worst enemy or your best
friend depending on how you wear them. In this case, it’s best to find shirts
that guide the eyes downwards PAST your chest (not stopping at) or find tops
that have a pattern at the bottom half so that the eyes are drawn downwards and
away from your chest. Also, if the patter must be on your chest, larger
patterns will lessen the perceived size of your breasts while a smaller pattern
(may) increase the size.
*Jewelry: Necklaces that hang below the breasts will guide
eyes in that direction. Also, avoid necklaces that are too short as they may
‘frame’ the chest area and bring more attention to it. Keep the focus of the
necklace either above the breasts or below them.
*Loose Clothing: A flowy top (as long as it flows in all the
right ways) can work wonders with your difficult gals. It can make you feel
elegant as well!
*Fashion Belt: Invest in a nice fashion belt as they can
bring emphasize and attention from your breasts and to your waist. Not to
mention they are incredibly versatile!
*Dark Colors: Dark colors, especially black, are universally
flattering and universally slimming.
I understand how frustrating it can be to dress the girls
and how they can make (or break) an outfit, but the bottom line is it’s all
about dressing yourself and loving yourself!! Do not curse your breasts, but
celebrate them! It’s all about loving yourself and knowing how to dress them!
